The Prime Minister’s announcement that pubs, bars and restaurants can reopen on the 4th of July has been eagerly awaited by the whole of England. The public, hospitality establishments and drinks producers alike will be pleased to return to some form of normality.

David Beswick, Managing Director at Close Brothers Brewery Rentals, said:

“Confirmation of the reopening date on the 4th of July is positive news, providing a boost for those working in the industry. While some challenges remain, the lifting of restrictions enable us all to make steps in the right direction after an especially difficult period.

“Practical challenges will continue to exist for businesses, but the reduction of social distancing to ‘one metre plus’ will be welcome. Many will now be awaiting further sector specific guidelines to finalise their plans for reopening.

“For drinks producers, the news that their hospitality partners are able to start trading again will mean readying their products for distribution. Brewers and cider makers in particular will be working hard as demand for casks and kegs of their products increases – they are key to getting those taps pouring again.

“At Close Brothers Brewery Rentals we are ready to work closely with the sector and provide flexible, reactive solutions on containers, including ecasks and ekegs, and other drinks equipment solutions as we move forward.”
